The Vampire’s Sunny Lair

“Miss Qianyue, no, Miss Qianliu Wuyue,” God’s Agent corrected herself, a faint smile playing on her lips as she looked at Qianyue. “Would you be able to take us to find your brother?”

Silence descended, a long and profound quietude. Qianyue merely met God’s Agent’s gaze, offering no reply.

“Can you?” God’s Agent inquired again, her expression unwavering, her smile still in place.

“How did you come to know my identity?” Qianyue countered, ignoring the question and fixing her eyes intently on God’s Agent.

“It was quite simple, really. I could tell at a glance,” God’s Agent replied, crossing her arms over her chest. “Vampires who don’t fear holy light can only be from the Qianliu family, can’t they? And currently, only two members of the Qianliu family remain: one is the Shadow Sword Emperor Qianliu Yingyue, and the other is his younger sister—you, Qianliu Wuyue.”

Qianyue, or rather, Qianliu Wuyue, regarded God’s Agent with growing wariness. Her hand subtly drifted to the dagger concealed at her back.

“How did you know I was a vampire?” she pressed.

God’s Agent uncrossed her arms and stretched languidly. “There’s no need to be so defensive. I bear you no ill will. Besides, even if your vampire physique is formidable, at this distance, your brother could only be unilaterally beaten by me. Do you truly think you stand a chance?”

Qianliu Wuyue slowly released her grip on the dagger.

“What do you want me to do then?” she asked, a hint of resignation in her voice. “But let me be clear, I don’t want to exchange another word with that pervert.”

God’s Agent adopted an ‘I-knew-it’ expression. “It’s nothing much. You just need to cooperate when the time comes. I’ll make sure he’s utterly subdued.”

A knowing, profound smile spread across God’s Agent’s face. Watching her, a shiver ran down my spine. ‘She’s terrifying,’ I thought. ‘I should never cross her.’

“Also, I don’t know where he is,” Qianliu Wuyue added quickly.

“It’s fine. I’ll find him. He dared to provoke me? We’ll see what I do to him.”

With such ease, the formidable God’s Agent sealed the fate of a legendary powerhouse.

God’s Agent then produced a black crystal. In a flash, our group vanished from the arcade, reappearing atop a picturesque mountain峰, surrounded by clear streams and lush greenery.

“This is Qianliu Yingyue’s lair,” God’s Agent announced, pushing aside a leaf that obstructed her view.

The surroundings were bathed in brilliant sunlight, with vibrant green grass, thriving trees, and beautiful flowers blooming everywhere. A clear stream meandered through the landscape, its waters so transparent that small fish could occasionally be seen darting about. Every corner exuded a vibrant, lively energy.

I stared blankly at the flourishing scene. “Um, God’s Agent, vampires are… well, vampires, right?”

God’s Agent pondered for a moment. “According to your world’s understanding, yes, that’s correct.”

“Then, shouldn’t they live in gloomy, ancient castles, with their surroundings either barren or filled with deathly aura?” I asked, confused. “This place… it doesn’t seem right.” In all the movies I’d seen, vampires always lived like that.

“Who told you that?” God’s Agent asked, turning to me. “No matter how you look at it, living in the kind of place you described isn’t a good choice, is it?”

I remained perplexed. “So then…”

“There’s no ‘so then’ about it. Please, think about it. If someone lived in a place like that for an extended period, and didn’t go insane, you can come find me.” God’s Agent found my question so idiotic that she clearly didn’t want to elaborate further.

“Alright…” I murmured, my voice barely audible. “So, what do we do next?”

God’s Agent beckoned Qianliu Wuyue and me closer. “First…”

“No!” I immediately refused. Qianliu Wuyue’s intimidating aura had already overwhelmed me. How could I possibly…

God’s Agent nodded. “Indeed, that might be a bit too much for you. How about we reverse it?”

“Absolutely not! That’s even worse!” I exclaimed, my face flushing scarlet as I continued to vehemently protest.

“Then you figure it out yourself,” God’s Agent said, her smile enigmatic. “But Qianliu Wuyue, you know your brother’s situation. You should understand what needs to be done, shouldn’t you? As for you,” she said, looking at me, “handle it yourself. Running away is impossible, though. Don’t be useless.”

“But, but…” I stammered, choked for words. I could only nod meekly.
