Chapter 9: Disaster

Five hundred years ago.

When I was at the height of my infamy as the Dragon Bel Phegor, the war that took place back then was a battle between swords and magic.

Whoever had more magicians would win.

Whoever had more swordmasters would win.

Or whoever had so much material that it was difficult for magicians and swordmasters to withstand that they would be pushed back.

That’s how I brought victory to the demons.

There were times when I fought on the front lines myself, times when I fought guerrilla warfare against warriors and eliminated them first, and times when I fought them in wheeled battles and defeated them.

In the process, humanity developed greatly.

Ah, they say that war is the driving force behind the development of human civilization.

Humanity grew rapidly based on war.

They began to study how to kill the demons as efficiently as possible without getting hurt themselves.

Magic engineering.

Technology that combined the magic and mana of the demon world with the technology of dwarves and the spirit magic of elves began to develop.

I know this technology well. Before I was defeated in the last Middle-earth, I was able to obtain his technology through a deal with a magic engineer who had made a deal with me in the human world.

In any case, magic engineering, which began with the demon dragon Bel Pegor, had a significant impact on human civilization.

Technology that had been started for war began to permeate all of human history, and it flowed into the demon world through the demons who had been summoned to the Middle-earth.

The most representative item of magic engineering is the ‘gun’.

Pulling the trigger fires the bullet inside, a very simple principle.

Even a young child can kill a knight by simply holding a gun and putting a bullet in the knight’s neck.

It’s an easy weapon of mass destruction.

Why would a village chief like this…?

“Heh, heh. No matter how good you are at shooting arrows and swords, what’s the use? If you get shot, you’re finished.”

“C, village chief!”

“Lucius, I’ve never liked you since you were little. You act like a child who was picked up somewhere and abandoned by some noble family.”

“……”

I wasn’t interested in the relationship between Lucius, the village chief, and the guardian who took in Lucius, but somehow the situation started to turn subtly.

“Hand over the red-faced witch behind you!”

“T-No! This person!”

“This is a disaster!!”

“Just do it, trash.”

I pushed Lucius aside and stepped forward.

“Threatening people with a gun? What can you do to me with a gun like that?”

He pushed forward with bluff.

If that guy really thought I was a red-faced witch, he’d hesitate for a moment at my resolute stance in front of a gun.

“Huh! Even a witch dies when shot!”

But there was nothing like that at all.

“Witch, don’t even think about doing something!”

It would have been better if he had fallen for her bluff and been defeated, but that guy didn’t stop his tricks to confuse Lucius with the ‘red-faced witch disaster theory’ he had made up.

He kept saying I was a witch, but in reality, he thought of me as a powerless girl.

“Kneel down, witch! Lucius, you’re being fooled by a witch right now!!”

“That’s…”

The only person they’re trying to fool is Lucius.

If they could somehow subdue Lucius, who can be called my only ally right now, they could secretly take me away, so they’re trying to convince Lucius.

Lucius, he’s stronger in hand-to-hand combat than you think.

“How absurd. If I were a woman with no power, wouldn’t you be trying to lock me up and do weird things to me?”

“Huh, shut up, Witch of Disaster!”

“You keep saying disaster, disaster… It’s unpleasant.”

Now is the time.

“I am the ‘Crimson Magician’ who broke the long seal to save humanity.”

“Crimson… What?”

“Crimson Magician. Don’t you know?”

“…What is that, you crazy person?”

“…… Five hundred years ago, it was the nickname of a witch who was one of the top five warriors who gave me the most trouble, so how can you not know about it? ‘What’s going on, Crimson Magician’ Five hundred years have passed, but has that legendary battle against the demon dragon Bel Pheggo, where he blew up an entire mountain range, not even been handed down? Or is it because this is such a remote place that they don’t know about it?”

Even Lucius seemed to not know much about it. I don’t know much about the Crimson Magician either.

She was just a stunning beauty, and had red eyes similar to my current appearance.

I know that she was given the nickname Hongryeon because she used fire magic so well.

Oh, and her breasts were really big.

She had breasts bigger than my head, and she was one of the top ten warriors in terms of skill, so I ended up mentioning a nickname that suited my current appearance well.

But I don’t know.

They seem to know nothing about the Crimson Magician.

In that case…

“You really don’t know? Defeat the Demon King Bel Pegor and take the continent’s-”

“Eww!!”

The village chief screamed.

The village chief’s son and subordinates behind the village chief also took a step back in shock.

“This is truly a disaster! To mention a name that should never be said!”

“What difference will it make if I say it?”

“Disaster is coming!! You, you b*tch, are trying to ruin our village at all costs!!”

The village chief’s eyes began to fill with murderous intent.

Just a moment ago, she had been looking at me with a sinister gaze, but now she seemed to have put aside even that intention and was trying to ‘really’ kill me.

“Die!!”

With a click.

“!!”

Ta —ang!!

The village chief pulled the trigger.

I was dizzy at the red blood splattering before my eyes.

“Lucius!!!”

“Ugh…! Are you okay?”

“What, why on earth!!”

This crazy guy.

“It’s okay. Ugh…”

Lucius was shot in the shoulder.

He threw himself to protect me, but he got hit by the magic bullet instead of me.

“Why did you throw yourself!!”

“Protecting my master… Ugh…!”

“Don’t say anything! Damn it…!”

I can’t use heal.

There’s also something called an attribute in magic, so I can’t use heal, which is a light attribute magic, with this undead body.

To be exact, I have to use all the mana I have right now to use it.

If an undead wants to use light attribute magic, they have to consume that much mana, and with the manal have right now, I can easily burn to death a hundred people, but it’s hard to heal one person.

So…

“What the heck are you doing!!”

“What the heck are you doing!! Since I called the Demon King’s name, death will come to this village!!”

“What the hell are you doing just because I called his name!!”

“Just?!! You crazy bastard! Is the Demon Dragon joking?! The worst Demon Dragon that tried to destroy humanity, is joking right now!!”

The conversation is not working.

There is no way to cure Lucius. No, there is one thing.

“You just have to hold the Holy Sword.”

If you hold the Holy Sword, your wounds will heal, and you will gain the power to overcome guns.

The gun that the village chief shot was not a bullet, but a “Mattan’ type gun that shoots condensed mana, and its speed is only slightly faster than a magic missile.

Even though it is called a gun, if you think of it as a staff that can shoot magic missiles, it is not that there is no way to overcome this situation.

So.

“Step back, Lucius.”

After sitting Lucius on the bed, I grabbed a broom that was as long as my body.

Crunch.

I put mana in my toes and bent the comb, and my broom now became a wooden spear.

“Ha, you have to hear it here”

Phew!

A blow to the village chief’s shoulder.

Faster than a gun, faster than Lucius’s movements, I stabbed the tip of my spear into the chief’s shoulder.

“Kusak!”

The chief roared, and red blood spurted out.

The people next to me were surprised for a moment, then they started to run at me with angry eyes.

“Hmph.”

Once at the one approaching closest.

“Eww!!”

The guy raised his hand in shock at the tip of the spear aimed at his neck, and I stabbed the broom into the empty pit under his raised arm.

Crunch.

For most humans, the pit is a vital point. Unlike the brain or heart, which are protected by the skull or ribs, the pit is one of the easiest places to subdue with a strike.

“Keuk…!”

The guy rolled his eyes and fell to his knees.

In the meantime, I immediately retrieved my spear.

“You bitch!”

“Where did you get your bitch from?”

I swung my spear upwards at the guy who dared call me a bitch and had Lucius hit his chin.

The bastard quickly threw his head back, and my broom cut through the air.

“Huh! Just this much-”

Crunch.

The broom’s tip, which had been turned once more, was aimed at the man’s groin.

For humans, for men, there is one more vital point that can cause death if struck.

Women are the same, but men feel the pain even worse.

“The bastard stepped back without saying anything. The blow was strong enough to break the broom, and the sensation I felt in my hand was clearly broken”.

Now all that was left was…

“What, stop!!”

The village chief’s son.

He supported the village chief, and while holding the gun in his stead, he shouted at me.

“If you move any further, I’ll shoot!”

“Damn it.”

The bastard’s gun was pointed at Lucius, not me.

It was aimed directly at the heart, and my broom had just shattered another bastard’s egg, breaking it into a short spear.

It wouldn’t be enough to save Lucius.

The mana I was using to strengthen my body was now too dangerous to use.

“Drop your weapon!”

“Master!! You can’t!!”

“_Leave Lucius alone.”

I threw the broom.

If I waited for the moment when that gun would leave Lucius, then how was there a chance?

Target me. Not Lucius, but me.

However, the village chief’s son, as if he was filthy smart, continued to aim at Lucius.

“H, hmph! What kind of tricks are you planning on doing! Don’t leave me alone! I’ll kill you before you die!!”

A moment of life or death.

If a situation ever came where I might have to risk my life, I would “Lucius. Trust me. I will kill you….”

At that moment.

Ding ding ding ding ding

———

The alarm bell began to ring, indicating an emergency in the village.

The village chief and his party panicked, and so did I.

“What is it?”

“It can’t be because of the gunshots, right?”

From afar.

Countless small ‘demon’ auras began to approach the village.

And.

“Village chief!! The goblins are attacking at night!!!”

“T-the witch of disaster!”

“…”

Huh.

Is this real?
