Bai Lan’s memories held a vast repository of the Xue Clan’s cultivation methods and techniques. As the young master of the Xue Clan, Xue Yue had naturally been privy to all their secrets.
Since Xue Yue knew them all, these techniques now inherently belonged to Bai Lan. This was an unexpected bonus after his reincarnation into this world.
Being the most formidable power in the Northern Plains of the Eastern Continent, the Xue Clan possessed only top-tier cultivation methods. Their highest-grade technique, the Snow Divine Scripture, was a divine-tier cultivation method.
Cultivation methods in this world were categorized into six major tiers: Divine, Heavenly, Earthly, Profound, Spirit, and Human. Each major tier was further divided into four minor grades: Low, Mid, High, and Supreme.
The Snow Divine Scripture, a Divine-tier cultivation method, transcended these grades entirely. Such a technique could only be possessed by clans whose ancestors had ascended to godhood.
The Xue Clan’s progenitor, in fact, was a celestial deity who had ascended to the Heavenly Realm, bearing the title of Snow God.
The cultivation ranks in this world comprised twelve levels: Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Violet Palace, Soul Manifestation, Spirit Transformation, Soul Splitting, Body Integration, Tribulation Transcendence, Mahayana, and Ascension.
Each level was subdivided into Early, Mid, Late, and Completion stages. To advance to the next level, one needed to reach the Completion stage of their current realm, then break through according to its specific requirements.
Higher cultivation levels grew progressively harder to advance. Luo Yan, the Sect Master of the Luoshen Sect, was a formidable cultivator at the Violet Palace realm.
While perhaps not the absolute strongest in the Eastern Continent, the Violet Palace realm marked a mid-tier cultivation level. However, within the Eastern Sea Region, it represented a peak-tier powerhouse.
Furthermore, the Luoshen Sect distinguished itself from other sects in the Eastern Sea Region. Its legacy spanned over eight millennia, tracing back to its progenitor, the Luoshen, a deity who had ascended to the Heavenly Realm.
Thus, the Luoshen Sect carried a divine lineage. However, its current state was a far cry from its former glory.
More accurately, after the Luoshen left her inheritance, the sect only flourished for a single generation. During that era, the Luoshen Sect reigned as the foremost sect in the Eastern Sea Region, even qualifying as a hegemon-level power across the entire Eastern Continent.
By Luo Yan’s generation, the lineage had reached its fifth iteration. This meant Luo Yan was the fifth Sect Master, and her contemporaries were considered fifth-generation disciples.
Ximen Xue and her peers, on the other hand, belonged to the sixth generation.
According to the Luoshen Sect’s regulations, no Sect Master could hold office for more than two thousand years; upon reaching this tenure, they were obliged to abdicate in favor of the next generation.
The previous Sect Master had only passed on the position to Luo Yan less than five hundred years ago. Therefore, this generation still had a considerable amount of time ahead.
“The Snow Divine Scripture?” Bai Lan inquired, sitting on the bed in the basement. “Yun Yao, I have a question for you. If I continue cultivating the Snow Divine Scripture, will the Xue Clan be able to sense me?”
“If the Xue Clan employs secret tracking techniques, they would definitely sense you,” Yun Yao replied. “However, you needn’t worry. You are the Child of Destiny chosen by me, and your fate’s trajectory is shielded in this world.”
“This means no one can track you through Heavenly Mystery Arts or similar methods.”
Heavenly Mystery Arts were techniques that only Tribulation Transcendence cultivators could master. They allowed one to steal heavenly secrets and glean others’ destinies.
Of course, some secret arts also possessed similar effects.
Nevertheless, Yun Yao was the embodiment of this world’s Heavenly Dao. As long as she wished to conceal Bai Lan, no one could possibly track him.
“In that case, I can rest assured,” Bai Lan said. He then began cultivating the Snow Divine Scripture, following the methods stored in Xue Yue’s memories.
The Snow Divine Scripture was an ice-elemental cultivation method. When mastered, a mere wave of the hand could transform an entire region into a world of ice and snow.
Its effects were even more potent in areas with abundant water. The scripture encompassed all techniques created by the Snow God, primarily focusing on sword arts, palm techniques, movement skills, and secret arts.
Incidentally, not everyone in this world could cultivate. Only those possessing Spirit Roots were capable of it.
Spirit Roots were generally categorized into ten types: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Ice, Yin, and Yang.
Among these, the Five-Element Spirit Roots were the most common. Wind, Lightning, and Ice were considered rare Spirit Roots.
As for Yin and Yang Spirit Roots, they were exceedingly rare, appearing in perhaps one in a million individuals.
The more types of Spirit Roots one possessed, the better. Most people only had a single type, which restricted them to cultivating only corresponding techniques and methods.
For instance, a Fire Spirit Root holder could not cultivate techniques of other attributes.
However, some individuals possessed multiple types. For example, the rare Five-Element Physique encompassed Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth elements.
Even rarer were Natural Spirit Physiques, which included Wind, Lightning, and Ice. This implied that cultivators with multiple Spirit Roots often also possessed special physiques.
As for Yin and Yang Spirit Roots, they exclusively manifested in cultivators with exceedingly rare physiques, such as the Ten Great Divine Physiques. Almost all of these possessed either a Yin or Yang Spirit Root.
Bai Lan’s chosen Chaos Body was even more unique, granting him mastery over all elemental attributes.
At this very moment, Bai Lan was examining his own Spirit Roots. Within his Sea of Consciousness, a vibrant, multi-colored root system was deeply embedded.
This formation resembled the roots of a tree, intricately connected to his physical body.
Although Xue Yue’s cultivation had dissipated due to the removal of the Snow Divine Bone, his soul power had been inherited by Bai Lan.
It might seem that Xue Yue was only eight or nine years old when he was stripped of his Divine Bone.
However, at that tender age, Xue Yue had already been a cultivator at the Early Foundation Establishment stage. Consequently, Bai Lan inherited the divine sense power of an Early Foundation Establishment cultivator.
Without it, Bai Lan would neither have been able to cultivate independently nor perform introspection.
Is this the legendary Ten-Attribute Spirit Root, possessed by the Chaos Body? Bai Lan murmured to himself, gazing at the spirit root.
“Bai Lan, what you know of the Chaos Body is merely the surface,” Yun Yao’s voice resonated in his ear. “The Chaos Body’s abilities are quite unique. Allow me to explain them to you.”
Bai Lan naturally had no objections.
Why was the Chaos Body hailed as the cultivation world’s rarest physique? It was because this physique was the closest to the Heavenly Dao.
Before the heavens and earth first parted, there was only chaos.
Chaos was primarily composed of Yin and Yang energies. This implied that Bai Lan’s ten-attribute Spirit Roots were fundamentally rooted in Yin and Yang.
Possessing Yin and Yang attributes inherently meant possessing all attributes.
Furthermore, the Chaos Body was also known as the Six Paths of Reincarnation Physique. For Bai Lan to achieve full mastery of the Chaos Body, he would need to undergo six cycles of reincarnation.
This meant experiencing six entirely different lives.
The first was the Human Path, which was the current life Bai Lan was destined to experience. Once the Human Path Physique cultivated to the Mahayana realm, he would have to dissolve his body and re-enter the cycle of reincarnation.
Should he die unexpectedly, he would still need to choose to cultivate anew, selecting one of the subsequent paths for his next life: Demonic, Ghostly, Fiendish, Immortal, or Spirit.
The Demonic Path corresponded to the Beast Realm, the Ghostly Path to the Hungry Ghost Realm, the Fiendish Path to the Hell Realm, the Immortal Path to the Heavenly God Realm, the Human Path to the Mortal Realm, and the Spirit Path to the Asura Realm.
Among these, Human, Immortal, and Spirit were considered the Three Virtuous Paths, while Demonic, Ghostly, and Fiendish were the Three Evil Paths.
Naturally, these matters were still quite distant for Bai Lan at present. He likely wouldn’t need to dwell on them too much in the short term.
In essence, to truly achieve the Chaos Body, Bai Lan would need to live six lives. This was merely the beginning.
“What? The Chaos Body requires six lives of cultivation? That’s far too long, isn’t it?” Bai Lan exclaimed, a bewildered expression on his face after Yun Yao finished explaining the Chaos Body.
“It’s only six lives, don’t worry,” Yun Yao assured him. “The Chaos Body has one advantage: after reincarnation, you’ll retain your memories from previous lives, and your soul is indestructible. You absolutely cannot die.”
“Huh? Oh, alright then,” Bai Lan said, his face a picture of exhaustion. “If I had known, I would’ve chosen a different Divine Physique. I’ve really dug my own grave.”
He simply found it too tedious.
“Don’t say that,” Yun Yao countered. “While it might be a bit complex, once you achieve the Chaos Body, you’ll be invincible throughout the world. Even if you ascend to the Upper Realm, you’ll still be a top-tier powerhouse.”
