Join the ServerThe crimson halo floated back slowly.
Bai Long raised his hand and caught it steadily.
Then, a slightly hoarse electronic voice from the halo transmitted into his mind:
[Phew… finally back. I’m exhausted.]
Bai Long’s voice came through the equipment on his face, flat: “Good work.”
Halo: [ (??????)?? ]
Bai Long slowly turned his gaze, scanning the still twisted and ruined ruins around him.
“But it seems we didn’t make it out.”
Halo: [ (′;ω;`) ]
At that moment, a lucky surviving zombie stumbled to its feet.
Its broken limbs twisted at unnatural angles, crawling slowly toward Bai Long with hoarse growls.
Bai Long heard the noise, sighed helplessly, raised his pistol, and aimed steadily at the zombie’s head.
He didn’t even bother to aim carefully; his finger pulled the trigger of the Colt 1911.
“Bang——”
The crisp gunshot was especially piercing in the empty city.
The zombie’s head was pierced instantly, its body fell to the ground, and it was completely still.
After dealing with the zombie, Bai Long slowly lowered the gun and sighed softly, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness.
He raised his hand and reattached the crimson halo to the top of his head, then turned his gaze to the distance.
Meanwhile, the three-in-one device on his face switched to a telescope.
Then, under the halo’s control, the view in Bai Long’s sight slowly zoomed in, details becoming clear.
On a billboard, a girl was hanging in midair, gripping the handle of a flying knife, staring at him with terrified eyes.
Ah, such a familiar look.
He lowered his head slightly, quickly scanned the ground beneath the girl’s feet, and instructed the halo above through thought transmission:
[Halo, give me a magazine.]
As soon as he spoke, the crimson halo trembled slightly, and a magazine for the Colt 1911 dropped out, landing precisely in Bai Long’s open palm.
He raised his hand, ejected the empty magazine from the pistol, and tossed it aside.
Before it hit the ground, the empty magazine turned into white light and vanished.
Then, he smoothly inserted the new magazine into the gun, his movements clean and fast.
After reloading, Bai Long held the Colt 1911 and walked toward the billboard where the girl was.
Soon, Bai Long arrived at an open space not far from the billboard and stopped.
One stood on the ground, one hung in midair, facing each other from a distance.
Without further ado, Bai Long slowly raised his gun, the muzzle aimed steadily at Xiaocao hanging on the billboard.
Instantly, Xiaocao felt her heart rate spike to the limit.
“Five seconds. Name, identity.”
Bai Long’s voice came through the gas mask, calm but with an undeniable pressure.
Xiaocao was already trembling.
She stared fixedly at the gun aimed at her, cold sweat beading on her forehead and sliding down her cheeks.
She could clearly feel that the man opposite was serious.
Xiaocao gritted her teeth, her mind in turmoil.
Should she speak? She instinctively wanted to hide the hand hanging naturally behind her back.
Bai Long: “Don’t move.”
“I don’t know what you’re trying to do, but I suggest you don’t pull the trigger.”
Xiaocao: “…”
It seemed… if she didn’t speak now… she would really be shot!
She took a deep breath, as if making a huge decision.
Fear faded from her face, replaced by a forced determination.
Then, Xiaocao closed her eyes and shouted courageously at Bai Long on the ground.
“I-I-I-I-I…”
“Bang——”
A crisp gunshot suddenly rang out, cutting off her stutter.
Xiaocao shuddered, her heart nearly jumping out of her throat.
Only one thought filled her mind:
‘No way? Stuttering doesn’t get you shot, does it?’
She cautiously opened her eyes, and another gunshot sounded.
Then, a figure in a tattered black robe slammed heavily into a nearby wall with a dull crash.
Xiaocao’s pupils contracted, staring at the black-robed figure.
That was the black-robed man who had been enveloped in the crimson halo and had disappeared in the red light!
He wasn’t dead?
She looked down at the ground below her, noticing an inconspicuous shallow pit with some torn black cloth at its edge.
Seeing this, Xiaocao suddenly understood.
That guy hadn’t been eliminated by the red halo at all.
He had hidden in the pit under her, planning to ambush her when she let her guard down and came down from the billboard!
Realizing this, cold sweat burst out on Xiaocao’s back, a wave of fear washing over her, and she couldn’t help but shiver.
Meanwhile, Bai Long didn’t pause.
He kept pulling the trigger of the Colt 1911, muzzle flashes flickering, each shot precisely hitting the black-robed man as he was sent flying backward.
The black-robed man leaned against the wall, initially trying to struggle up, but each shot tore through his already tattered robe, leaving it riddled with holes, and he had no strength to get up.
However, leaning against the wall, he seemed on the verge of death but still not completely dead.
“Tough, huh…”
Bai Long judged from experience that the bullets were spent, so he simply discarded the pistol onto the ground.
The Colt 1911, just before hitting the ground, turned into a white light and then completely dissipated in the air, leaving no trace.
Meanwhile, Bai Long casually snapped his fingers:
[Halo.]
Hearing the command, the blood-red halo floating above his head automatically drifted to the side.
Red light swirled as it began to expand slowly.
As the halo expanded, light and shadow gathered beneath it, and something fell out along its edge.
Bai Long didn’t look closely at first, simply reaching out to catch it steadily.
But when he felt the touch, he looked down and saw what it was, he was stunned, frowning slightly.
“What… is this?”
The object looked like a rocket launcher, but Bai Long was sure he had never seen this model.
The most distinctive feature was its magazine, which was a rare side-opening design.
Just as Bai Long was puzzled, the halo sent the weapon’s basic information into his mind.
[Promiser M33]
[Promiser? Improved rocket launcher. Improved rockets, increased destructive power and blast radius, faster projectile speed. Rockets explode upon impact. Can deal damage to enemies over a wide area.]
Bai Long: “…”
Why did this name sound so familiar?
He thought for a moment and suddenly realized.
Wasn’t this the weapon from the game “Storm One: Solo Man and His Professor Save the World”?
“Oh well, as long as it works.”
Bai Long didn’t dwell on it and hoisted the side-opening rocket launcher onto his shoulder.
Then, under Xiaocao’s shocked gaze as she hung in midair, Bai Long lifted the obviously heavy rocket launcher with one hand, as easily as if he were carrying a stick.
On the other side, the black-robed man barely leaning against the broken wall saw this.
His pupils contracted, and he froze for a full two seconds, clearly not expecting such an exaggerated weapon.
Bai Long adjusted the angle of the rocket launcher, aimed at the black-robed man, and said flatly, “Say cheese.”
Black-Robed Man: “???”
Before he could figure it out, Bai Long pulled the trigger.
“Whoosh——boom!”
The rocket screamed out, exploded on impact, flames shooting into the sky.
Then a second, third, and fourth shot in quick succession, one per second, a relentless bombardment.
Xiaocao only caught a glimpse of the carnage below before she turned away in fear.
God, it was too bloody…
Debris flew everywhere, and after the continuous explosions, smoke and dust filled the air.
The black-robed man’s figure had already disappeared completely in the barrage.
Barring any miracles, he had been truly reduced to ashes.
Bai Long casually tossed the rocket launcher aside.
Like the Colt 1911 before, the rocket launcher turned into a soft white light just before hitting the ground and slowly dissipated.
[Halo, new gun.]
As soon as he gave the order, the crimson halo expanded again, red light flashing, and a small gun dropped from beneath the halo.
Bai Long reached out and caught it steadily.
He brought the gun up to his eyes, glanced at it briefly.
Then… he couldn’t look away.
Bai Long: “???”
If you called it a gun, it did have the form of a gun.
Even ignoring some unique decorations, it was similar to the 1911.
But was something wrong with this gun?
At first glance, it looked like a semi-automatic pistol, but what really caught the eye was the conspicuously out-of-place decoration on its body.
Attached to the left side of the gun was a miniature car tire, completely mismatched with the gun’s style.
[Wheel Gun]
[Normally compressed into a bullet-sized cylinder, upon firing it rapidly expands in the air into a full tire with a diameter of 100 cm. The tire has a built-in micro thruster, allowing it to adjust direction in flight, achieving an aerial drifting effect.]
Wheel Gun?
Ha, true to its name.
