As dawn broke, the sun, like a sword of light, cleaved through the night curtain, revealing a towering, magnificent mountain amidst the ranges. Viewed from afar, this peak resembled a colossal hand with six fingers extending from the earth—this was Six Yang Mountain, the headquarters of the Immortal Alliance in Jiang Country.
Presently, countless cultivators, riding flying artifacts and spirit beast mounts, converged from all directions, soaring towards the palm of Six Yang Mountain, creating a grand spectacle akin to myriad immortals arriving to pay homage.
Today marked Jiang Country’s triennial Immortal Dao Assembly, also known as the New Generation Cultivator Exchange Conference.
This conference was typically held at Six Yang Mountain three years after the unified recruitment of disciples by the cultivation world in Jiang Country.
However, it was not merely restricted to new disciples who had joined sects within the past three years; rather, any qualified cultivator who had not exceeded the age limit since the conclusion of the previous assembly was eligible to participate.
In essence, only cultivators with an immortal age under thirty could attend.
Simultaneously, approximately ten thousand meters east of Six Yang Mountain, a colossal flying artifact, emblazoned with the Yunhua Sect’s banner, sped rapidly towards them.
Many Yunhua Sect disciples stood upon its deck.
“Hahahaha! What a lively scene, so many people! Wife, look, they’re all cultivators!”
A purple-clad girl stood at the edge of the flying artifact, her face alight with a smile of astonishment as she observed the cultivators traveling alone or in groups around them.
“You couldn’t possibly have been unaware that many people would come to participate in the Immortal Dao Assembly, could you?”
The white-clad girl beside her, Jiang Yao, retorted with an exasperated look.
Yan Yun, the purple-clad girl, merely spread her hands.
“I thought the Immortal Dao Assembly was only for the disciples who joined sects three years ago. I never imagined that cultivators born within thirty years of immortal age could participate! It’s such a surprise, and even more outrageous, even *I* haven’t exceeded the age limit!”
The purple-clad girl glanced at Su Muyu, the white-clad woman standing beside Jiang Yao, who bore a striking resemblance to herself.
Upon hearing this, the more mature white-clad woman, Su Muyu, raised her hand and delivered a smack to the purple-clad girl’s head.
“*Slap!*”
“You mischievous girl! Am I not still very young, your mother? Although my actual age is just over thirty, my immortal age is only twenty-five or twenty-six. At this age, in the cultivation world, I’m only considered a child!” Su Muyu expressed her displeasure.
Yan Yun pouted her lips.
“Hehe, Mom, you’re the prettiest. Ever since joining the Yunhua Sect, I feel like you’ve been reverse-aging, getting younger and younger. It’s just a pity that the old man is completely over the age limit and can’t come.”
These three were none other than Yan Yun, Su Muyu, and Jiang Yao, a family.
“Ah, even if she could come, she probably wouldn’t. Not everyone is like you, who can change gender and still act so nonchalant,” Su Muyu said helplessly.
Yan Yun gave an awkward smile. She was open-minded about it, but Yan Long, now Yan Huang, rarely met anyone at Yunhua Sect except Su Muyu after coming there.
“This time, all three of us must enter the finals and ultimately claim the top three spots!” Yan Yun declared with a confident expression.
Jiang Yao chuckled.
“You’re certainly confident. But I must tell you, my master said that every Immortal Dao Assembly has seen many talented and extraordinary individuals. It’s not as simple as you think. Don’t get eliminated in the first round!”
Yet, Yan Yun remained brimming with confidence.
“I am thoroughly prepared. Leaving aside everything else, just in terms of financial resources, I refuse to believe that anyone participating in this competition is wealthier than me. I can simply overwhelm them with money!” Yan Yun swept her hand, and various consumable magical artifacts materialized before her.
Jiang Yao and Su Muyu watched Yan Yun’s antics, a large bead of cold sweat simultaneously trickling down their foreheads.
“Mom, dearest Mom, do you want some? I’ve prepared a lot; how about I share some with you?” Yan Yun asked.
Jiang Yao rolled her eyes.
“Go, go, go! I’m quite confident in my own strength. You, on the other hand, need to be careful. This assembly prohibits intentionally harming others. Your poison cultivation technique is already criticized as a demonic art. There are important figures from the Righteous Dao Alliance coming to observe this time, so I suggest you avoid using it if possible.” Jiang Yao cautioned.
At the mention of this, Yan Yun couldn’t help but glance somewhere behind her, where a pair of sinister eyes had been fixed on her.
“Hey, wife, let me ask you, was that Lin Mo always like this? Neither male nor female, like some kind of demon,” Yan Yun whispered in a low grumble.
However, Lin Mo seemed to sense her gaze and turned towards her, a bizarre, sinister smile spreading across her face.
That smile, coupled with her face, sent shivers down Yan Yun’s spine.
It wasn’t just Lin Mo; the entire Lin family also looked as if they wanted to devour Yan Yun.
“I never expected that fellow to turn into this monstrous appearance from cultivating poison arts. You need to be careful at the assembly. People die at every Immortal Dao Assembly; hundreds died in the last one, so it’s not absolutely safe.” Jiang Yao also cast a glance at Lin Mo before warning Yan Yun.
She felt that while the Lin family couldn’t do anything to them within the sect, they would surely try something nefarious outside if the opportunity arose.
“Hmph! Don’t worry about me; I’m practically hoping they’ll come looking for trouble. Oh, by the way, her second brother and the others should also be within the age limit, right? Will they come?” Yan Yun suddenly asked a question.
Su Muyu nodded.
“Those with the means in the family will definitely come. After all, this is a triennial assembly, and cultivators in Jiang Country can only participate once in their lifetime, so they certainly wouldn’t miss it.”
Just like that, the Yunhua Sect’s flying artifact swiftly entered Six Yang Mountain and landed on a massive platform there.
A Divine Soul Realm elder of the sect immediately appeared and addressed the crowd:
“Alright, we’ve arrived. Descend now. After you land, proceed directly to register. Do not wander off alone.”
Yan Yun and the others immediately flew down, landing on the ground. Once on the ground, Yan Yun swept her gaze around, noticing many men and women with white hair and purple eyes.
These individuals were clearly fellow practitioners of poison cultivation, just like Yan Yun.
“There are quite a few people cultivating poison arts, aren’t there? How interesting!” Yan Yun chuckled heartily.
“Look, the Yunhua Sect people have arrived! Those must be from the Yunhua Sect’s Purple Abyss Pavilion. That Young Master Yan Yun should be among them, right?”
Upon seeing the Yunhua Sect members, many poison cultivators immediately flocked around them.
Before long, Yan Yun and the other Purple Abyss Pavilion disciples were completely surrounded.
“Fellow Daoists of the Yunhua Sect, may I ask who is Young Master Yan Yun? I am a disciple of the Purple Luo Gate, and I wish to make the acquaintance of Young Master Yan.”
“Indeed! Many of us embarked on the path of cultivation because of Young Master Yan’s shared Heavenly Poison Sutra. Without Young Master Yan’s generosity, we wouldn’t be who we are today. Which one is Young Master Yan? Please step forward and let us meet you!”
These poison cultivators, much like fervent fans, eagerly demanded to meet Yan Yun.
Jiang Yao, noticing Yan Yun had amassed so many fans, couldn’t help but tease her wife.
“Hehe, husband, look! You’ve become a big star, with so many fans! Why don’t you go out and meet your fans?”
Yan Yun felt a moment of awkwardness, but then, being utterly shameless, she stepped forward directly.
“*Cough, cough,* Fellow Daoists, I am Yan Yun. May I ask why you wish to meet me?” Yan Yun cleared her throat a few times before stepping out and responding loudly.
These poison cultivators were stunned for a moment upon seeing a purple-clad girl step out and claim to be Yan Yun.
“This? You are Young Master Yan Yun? But… wasn’t Young Master Yan said to be a man?” Some female poison cultivators were bewildered.
“That’s right! According to the information we received, this Yan Yun should be the third young master of the Yan family in Qifeng City, and he married Jiang Yao, the Heavenly Pride of the Yunhua Sect. He should be a man, shouldn’t he?”
This was indeed awkward, suggesting these people hadn’t received the latest news. Yan Yun, however, had long since developed an extremely thick skin. Since some people already knew she had changed from male to female, one more person knowing wouldn’t hurt.
“Fellow Daoists, you may not know, but while I was the first to successfully cultivate the poison art, this technique has side effects. Unfortunately, my luck was poor, and after cultivating it, I changed gender, and this is how I ended up. Don’t mind it, don’t mind it! May I ask, besides myself, has anyone else changed gender after cultivating the poison art?” Yan Yun asked loudly.
She wanted to see if anyone else had experienced the same side effect of gender change from cultivating the poison art.
However, after asking around, no one else had experienced such a side effect, which made Yan Yun somewhat suspect if she was simply too unlucky.
