Chapter 6: Small streamers usually have a reason(3)

I started by checking out the videos of Rojon that kept popping up in the chat.

[The Current State of Eternal World], [Encountering a Deliberate Troll in Solo Queue]—I watched both.

‘Hooh. Hmm. Aha.’

I fully understood everything now.

I also took the opportunity to check out the VR Broadcast Gallery, which had been repeatedly mentioned in the chat.

<Watching the Hakko streamer’s video >
<So, Han Yurim, was that really a deliberate troll?>
<But there’s no cam and no mic, so it’s boring as hell.>

Something felt off.

I had zero viewers, and the person who uploaded the video only had about 2,000 subscribers on Mitube. No matter how I looked at it, this wasn’t something that should’ve caught their attention.

I started going through the top posts in the gallery.

Then, I began to see the bigger picture.

The heart of the matter lay in the Game Gallery.

<Small-time streamer from Game Gallery gets sniped>

– So many viral flops lately
– So boring

The comments were dripping with spite.

That’s how it all began.

A few hours later, a new clip surfaced.

<Small-time streamer from Game Gallery gets sniped and loses it>
(A clip of Mos watching and refuting Rojon’s video point by point)

– Isn’t this guy a former Grandmaster? No wonder he’s pissed off getting criticized by some low-rank player

– I’ll admit, the bottom-tier players can really be a pain.
– Getting called out by a Grandmaster? That’s just embarrassing
– Looks like the small-time streamers are gathering again.

This time, the reactions were slightly different.

The comments were divided, with half expressing agreement and the other half resorting to insults, just like before.

This was likely because most members of the VR broadcasting gallery were male and had experience with *Eternal World*.

They understood the significance of being a Grandmaster, which contributed to the reactions.

Challenging a Grandmaster about game content as a Platinum player was akin to disputing a legal matter with a lawyer.

There was a significant gap in expertise between the two.

Indeed, short-form content proved to be highly accessible.

As the clips were uploaded, several derivative posts appeared in the concept threads, unlike before.

Most of the posts were about mocking Rojon’s videos.

* <The reason why a noob remains a noob>
* <This guy has no talent; quitting would be beneficial for him.>
* <Rojon: “All these idiots should be rounded up and executed.”>

Honestly, I thought it was nothing special.

Posts like this pop up a few times a day.

And they’re quickly forgotten.

So, Rojon almost faded into obscurity…

But why did he jump into the flames with a can of oil all by himself?

Does he have a hobby for self-harm?

<The noob who targeted the gamers has uploaded a new video?>

(Han Yurim’s video accusing him of intentional trolling)

It seems like he’s desperately looking for a scapegoat now that the arrows are aimed at him.

– “Does he really think people wouldn’t notice such obvious moves?”

– “But isn’t it true that Thierry hit him?”

<Let’s revisit Rojon’s quotes at this point. >

(Clip where someone says that all the people engaging in the community should be shot dead)

*I can relate to that.*

– Hm. Is he asking for attention?

– But isn’t it true that killing them all would help society?

*It definitely needs to be normalized.*

The second comment seemed to agree with Rojon at first glance, but that wasn’t the case.

The level of resentment had risen to the point that even the slightest provocation could trigger an explosion, and there was no shortage of grumpy toads around.

In the midst of this, I sensed a feeling that everything was falling into place out of boredom. While I might not know much about live broadcasts, I understood communities quite well. It was clear—this felt like the atmosphere on the eve of a festival.

<Hey, I see the one who was targeted by Total Kill is broadcasting.>

(One Yurim’s broadcast link)

They’re still going

– How do you even find stuff like this?

I just searched the game nickname, and that was their broadcast nickname.

It was the most recent post.

Someone announced the start of the festival.

I continued to watch the chaotic chat room.

After all, this was a flame that would soon die down.

With nothing particularly entertaining happening, they had flocked to my broadcast to alleviate their boredom.

For them, time was an abundant resource, and chatting in the broadcast didn’t cost them anything.

I could simply end the stream and spend a day on game development, and everything would resolve itself as if nothing had happened.

But the issue was that this involved teamwork.

I can guarantee that the moment I end the stream, these guys will flock to Rojon’s channel.

And seeing that, Rojon will do something strange again.

It was a cycle of negativity.

Honestly, though, it wasn’t really a big issue.

Unless Rojon suddenly goes crazy and sets his house on fire, it will eventually blow over.

And that would happen quickly.

Even if Rojon uploads a new video, it would only be relevant for a few more days at best.

Let’s be honest; Rojon isn’t a superstar or anything, and his actions…

He couldn’t manipulate hundreds of people.

In reality, they didn’t take this issue very seriously either.

As proof, just look.

Are you happy with the copycatting? Are you happy with the copycatting? Are you happy with the copycatting? Are you happy with the copycatting? Are you happy with the copycatting? Are you happy with the copycatting? I’m disappointed; I will unsubscribe. I’m disappointed; I will unsubscribe. I’m disappointed; I will unsubscribe. Isn’t it a crime that Thierry is picked…? Tsk.

Even though I didn’t think I was intentionally trolling, I was still typing messages like that.

For now, it seemed more entertaining for them to see me flustered.

These people were truly dopamine addicts.

I checked the viewer count.

[876 viewers]

That’s quite a lot.

I fell into thought.

Regardless of the circumstances, these people had come to watch me.

It meant they were potential customers who would buy my game.

And as a developer, I had to satisfy the users.

What would they like the most?

The answer came to me quickly.

I finished my thoughts and queued for a solo rank match in *Eternal World*.

The queue was found.

[No one can dodge my bullets]

The pick voice line played. I hadn’t heard that one before.

Main Carry (1st Pick): Support, is this sahyang?

Support (me): This is usable.

I glanced at the chat window.

Oh no.

Huh?!

Crazy bastard!

Oh no.

As expected, they like it.

See? I told you my sense of the public isn’t bad.

The reason my game failed isn’t because my taste is weird.

It’s because I didn’t promote it.

Q.E.D. Proof complete.

The game started.

I checked the main character’s pick. Perhaps because of the influence of Lee Sahyang, I chose a character that could farm reasonably well even alone.

The common trait of such characters is that their carry potential drops in the late game.

High stability means easy growth, which indicates that it is strong in the early game. Consequently, it is bound to be weak in the late game.

That works for me.

I opened the map and repeatedly pinged the desired farming area.

*Main Carry*: “Are you really farming from tier 4?”

The growth methods in *Eternal World* were diverse, but the most common approach was, of course, consuming objects.

There were a total of five tiers of objects scattered across the map, ranging from tier 1 to tier 5. As expected, the rewards became more powerful as the tiers increased.

And, correspondingly, the difficulty of the strategy increased.

From tier 3 onward, objects would appear after a certain amount of time, so at this point, the strongest object was tier 4. Well, even so, if I farmed a few tier 5 objects to level up, I could easily take down the objects, but…

No matter what, starting my first farming with a tier 4 object was unusual.

I pinged “I’m going” as I moved. The main carry tilted their head in confusion and followed me.

Currently, my tier was diamond. In any game, players in the top ranks often had their own established strategies.

That’s why the main carry followed my order, even though they were skeptical. They trusted that I had a plan.

The moment I lose their trust, I would be completely blocked, but that wouldn’t happen.

I entered the tier 4 object, [Yakuza Office].

Yakuza armed with swords charged at us.

I dashed forward.

Although sahyang was a ranged dealer, their attack range was short. It wasn’t as short as a melee dealer’s, but it wasn’t long either.

So, sahyang had a unique skill set for a ranged dealer. Just by looking at it, it was clear that utilizing it would be quite challenging and required a lot of skill.

I dodged the knife. 1 stack. A punch brushed past my cheek. 2 stacks. Bam! I tilted my head to avoid a bullet fired by the Yakuza boss. 3 stacks.

Sahyang’s passive ability, [Gun Kata], stacked up whenever I was hit or dodged an attack.

The effect was skill enhancement. As soon as I stacked 3, I activated the skill.

Clack. A bullet was loaded. A red bullet. I aimed the gun at the Yakuza group and fired.

Boom! Flames erupted. It was Sahyang’s first basic skill, [Elemental Bullet].

In an instant, the health of the Yakuza dropped significantly. I maneuvered through the chaos, unleashing my gun action.

Dodging every attack as much as possible, I landed normal hits while firing appropriate elemental bullets whenever my stacks increased, taking down enemies.

As I pierced the head of the last remaining Yakuza boss, I typed in the chat.

Han Yurim (Support): “Let’s recover health like this and wipe out the other 4-tier objects.”

Main Carry: “This actually works.”

By securing the 4-tier object so quickly, the enemy scouts would go hungry.

Riding the momentum, my growth was steep. Having practically consumed resources at the level of a sub-DPS, I headed toward the area where the 3-tier objects would spawn.

The enemy scout was glaring at me. It seemed like our growth had been stunted enough that our team was getting some complaints.

Ignoring that gaze, I read the situation.

Despite the enemy scout being so cornered, we were at quite a disadvantage. The enemy city core had overgrown, while our team’s city core hadn’t grown at all. At this rate, a typical team fight wouldn’t even be established.

Our city core signaled with a back ping. They had assessed the standoff and deemed it unfeasible.

I ignored it and charged at the enemy. Those who couldn’t keep up had no authority to give orders.

From behind, someone shouted in surprise, but it only reached my ears as a vague sound since I was already in a focused state.

A pillar of ice fell from above. It was the enemy city core’s skill. I twisted my body to dodge it and took another step forward.

The enemy main carry unleashed their skill. A bird made of wind tore through the air, showcasing an impressive range befitting a sniper concept.

However, the trajectory and timing were predictable. I smoothly lowered my body, effortlessly dodging the skill.

With that, the enemy was now within my range.

Flame engulfed my pistol.

Lee Sahyang’s ultimate, [Archer of Fate].

This skill allowed every basic attack to apply a desired additional elemental damage for its duration.

The startled enemy main carry fired their weapon, but I dodged and shot back this time. Flames engulfed the enemy.

Realizing the situation was dire, the enemy support opened a book.

A tree trunk erupted from the ground, binding me. Targeted immobilization. As such, the duration was short—at most about 0.5 seconds.

However, that was enough time for the enemies to chain their skills together.

A laser point was aimed at my forehead. An ice pillar formed above me. Shurikens flew through the air.

It was a concentrated firepower that I couldn’t withstand easily.

I calmly crossed my pistols above my head.

Perhaps they were flustered because I kept gaining the upper hand in the damage trade; their skill distribution was subpar for a high-tier player. It was as if they had forgotten what kind of character Lee Sahyang was.

Kieeeng. The skill activated.

Lee Sahyang’s second basic skill, **[Gun Guard]**.

The effect was that for a brief moment of one second, I could block all attacks while in an invulnerable state, gaining attack power proportional to the damage I received.

Having successfully blocked all attacks at the precise moment, I raised my pistols.

It was showtime.

**[Victory]**

After consecutive team fight defeats, the enemy surrendered.

Pleased with the game content, I nodded happily, only to realize something.

There were over 800 viewers currently watching the stream.

Having streamed with 0 viewers so often, I had completely forgotten about it. I got too focused on the game.

I casually checked the viewer count.

[2643]

Oh?

Something felt off, so I checked again.

There seemed to be a bug with the viewer count.

Was there some kind of problem?

I glanced at the chat.

Mom, I want to be Han Yurim when I grow up! Mom, I want to be Han Yurim when I grow up! Mom, I want to be Han Yurim when I grow up! Mom, I want to be Han Yurim when I grow up!

Sign here! ‘Lee Sahyang is a support character.’ Sign here! ‘Lee Sahyang is a support character.’ Sign here! ‘Lee Sahyang is a support character.’ Sign here! ‘Lee Sahyang is a support character.’

Romer’s post: “Oh? Is intentional trolling perhaps my doing?”

Rojon, let’s dive into the abyss! Haha!

Rojon, let’s dive into the abyss! Haha!

Rojon, let’s dive into the abyss! Haha!

Rojon, let’s dive into the abyss! Haha!

Rojon, let’s dive into the abyss! Haha!

There was really no problem at all.

By the way, they’re still going on about the abyss. If you had fun, just let Rojon be. Honestly, how much of a mistake did he really make?

People can make mistakes when they’re flustered.

I can’t let this go.

I quickly queued up and picked Lee Sahyang.

I need to keep them entertained and lift their spirits.

Huh, so she picked the character the other guy did previously and just did it better. RIP guy who thought he was hot stuff.
