Chapter 2: The Hero Who Absolutely Corrupts

A long time ago, I enjoyed helping others.

I thought it was only natural to help each other, considering that someday, I too might find myself in a difficult situation.

That mindset hasn’t changed, even after being summoned to this fantasy world.

The Demon King, said to have disappeared 300 years ago at the hands of a hero. A

nd now, I’ve been summoned to this world as a hero.

At first, I didn’t believe it… but when faced with unimaginable powers, magic, and dazzling girls I could never have dreamed of in my original world, I had no choice but to accept it.

Short white hair that brushes her shoulders, skin as white as snow, red eyes that stand in stark contrast to her complexion, and small horns adorning her head. Laura Anneriese Prospellte, a descendant of dragonkind and a court magician.

Golden hair that glimmers in the light, a well-trained body, and most striking of all, an incredible swordsmanship that dazzles.

Natalia Knightheart, a female knight.

And finally, Sera, with her chestnut-colored hair, a saintess with a kind heart who always opposes dangerous plans.

They are companions far too precious for me, and a party I wish to protect.

Therefore, for their sake, I don’t mind putting myself in danger.

“Laura, please enchant the sword.”

“…Alright, hero, I’ll trust you.”

Laura shyly agrees to my request.

Her enchantment, befitting her title as a descendant of dragonkind, causes the sword to emit a crimson heat.

Under normal circumstances, even if my limbs were severed, Sera’s healing magic could allow for a long battle of attrition.

But unless it’s Natalia, who has always walked the path of a knight, such a scene isn’t one I’d like the other girls to see.

So, even if it’s risky, I have no choice but to quickly settle the duel with the dungeon’s boss on my own.

“Um… even now, couldn’t we just take it slow and approach this as a long-term battle?”

But, as if reading my mind, Sera quietly raised her hand and voiced her opposition.

It’s always like this.

Even when I ask her to stay behind, she insists on following me out of consideration, worrying about what might happen in the dungeon.

She always opposes dangerous tasks.

Because of this, I especially don’t want her to witness any scenes where blood spills.

From the beginning, it’s absurd that such young girls, simply because they’re the companions of a hero blessed by the gods, must embark on perilous adventures.

This world is so very wrong.

But all my concerns are rendered moot… when that buzzing sound triggers the activation of my hypnotic abilities.

“…Okay, I’ll trust you.”

Perhaps due to the hypnosis, Sera no longer voices her opposition.

It’s always like this.

Whenever someone opposes me or when the atmosphere grows tense, the hypnosis ability activates.

Because of it, I’m always left with guilt. I can’t help but question if I genuinely have bonds with my companions.

This ability feels like nothing but a curse.

“Your swordsmanship continues to improve day by day. What’s truly remarkable is your selflessness, dueling the boss for the sake of your companions… you’re the epitome of a knight.”

“Hero… you’re amazing.”

As night fell, Laura and Natalia directed words of admiration toward me at the inn. But… none of it made me happy.

In my original world, I would never have even been able to speak to such beautiful girls.

So, their affection should be a joy.

But I can’t help but agonize over how much of it is genuine and how much is influenced by the hypnosis.

I end up smiling on the surface while feeling hollow inside.

At first, I tried to ignore this cursed hypnotic ability.

I attempted to disregard the affections of the girls and focus solely on fulfilling my role as a hero.

But that only led to Laura and Natalia succumbing to their desires, forcing their way into my room.

What’s more humiliating is waking up to find myself lying naked beside them.

Even though I’d like to claim that it happened against my will, the undeniable fact remains that I was there.

If there’s any hope for me, it lies solely in Saintess Sera. She’s the only one resisting the hypnosis.

“Hero, I can’t hold back anymore. Please…”

Even tonight, Laura and Natalia cling to me with sticky affection. And Sera quietly watches us.

At first, I wondered if even Sera would eventually succumb to the hypnosis.

But surprisingly, she seemed to resist its influence.

“Ugh…!”

As if mocking Sera’s efforts, the hypnotic ability activated again.

Seemingly dizzy, Sera held her head momentarily before standing up.

Then, claiming she “wasn’t feeling well,” Sera left the room alone.

Given how completely enchanted Laura and Natalia are, the hypnosis should be too overwhelming for ordinary mental fortitude to handle.

But Sera, befitting her title as a saintess, seems to manage to control herself remarkably well.

However, she hasn’t entirely escaped its effects.

She doesn’t seem to find anything strange about the constant moans echoing from my room or the clingy behavior of Laura and Natalia.

“Oh, okay… take care of yourself and rest!”

Perhaps feeling a bit sad about this, I ended up answering with a gloomy voice.

Still, the fact remains that I hold onto the hope that one day, I might be able to have normal relationships not influenced by hypnosis.

Knowing that leaving the hypnotized women unattended would result in unspeakable acts I’d rather not remember, I have no choice but to respond to Laura and Natalia’s advances tonight.

But this lifestyle cannot continue for long.

For some reason, the more I intertwine with them, the more I feel an inexplicable sadistic urge growing within me.

Even though I am currently the “hero who will never fall,” I’d rather die than become a scum who uses women as mere tools.

Huh, that’s an interesting twist and setting. That heros hypnosis is involuntary, automatic, and against his will.

It’s kinda like a worse version of the villain speech filter in Mesugaki Tank, or Death flags.

All that said it wouldn’t surprise me if it only operated on legitimate desires that hero actually has, but wouldn’t normally act on, so he isn’t blameless.

Same could possibly be said about the heroines.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the hypnosis only works if there is a certain level of affection and willingness or if the other heroines are low-key aware but roll with it, to further muddy the waters.
Now I see why there’s a misunderstanding tag.
